McMaster does not normally grant deferrals on offers of admission unless special extenuating circumstances exist. Each case is evaluated on its own merit.
All requests for deferral of both admission and scholarship should be made in writing by September 1 of the application year, outlining the reasons for the request. If you are granted a deferral, it is conditional upon you not attending a secondary or post-secondary institution during the deferral period.
