Trisha Southall Friday, June 20, 9:30 a.m. Trisha Southall is a Registered Nurse, passionate about promoting health and improving healthcare systems. Trisha served as Vice President of Programming and then Co-Chair of the DeGroote Interprofessional Health Leadership Conference (DIHLC), the largest student-led conference at McMaster. In 2023-24, she led an executive team to plan and facilitate the conference which was well attended by graduate level students across McMaster and the University of Toronto. In addition, Trisha also acted as class representative, worked as a Teaching Assistant, and volunteered with Motionball Hamilton. In her broader community, Trisha has worked as a Skate Canada coach for over 10 years empowering youth to find the joy in skating and physical activity. Trisha completed her Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Health Services Management. She has since joined The Hospital for Sick Children as a Project Manager supporting Project Horizon, a 15-year campus redevelopment project which aims to transform care delivery. |

Alexandra Bovie Friday, June 20, 2:30 p.m. Alexandra Bovie is a purpose-driven leader passionate about community building, mentorship, and social impact. Throughout her time at McMaster, she has dedicated herself to initiatives that uplift others and strengthen the student community. During Alexandra’s three years on the leadership team for JDCC DeGroote, McMaster’s delegation for Canada’s largest case competition, the team raised over $30,000 for local charities and volunteered more than 6,000 hours across Hamilton. Her leadership also helped the team secure three consecutive national School of the Year titles, marking the longest winning streak in McMaster’s history at the competition. In her final year, Alexandra made it a priority to provide younger students with the same mentorship that had positively impacted her. She welcomed incoming students as a Welcome Week Representative and guided second-year students in professional development as a Career Mentor on DeGroote’s CPD team. Beginning her next chapter as a data analyst, Alexandra is committed to carrying forward the values of mentorship and community that defined her time at McMaster and looks forward to staying active in volunteer work. |

Armughan Ahmad Friday, June 20, 2:30 p.m. Armughan Ahmad is a ground-breaking tech executive whose legacy is entwined with the technological and commercial progress of artificial intelligence. He currently serves as the Executive Chairman at RxFood AI, building agentic AI for the future of nutrition, and as senior Al advisor at ServiceNow, Telus and OMERS leading enterprise business reinvention through innovative AI applications. Previously, Mr. Ahmad was the CEO and president of Appen AI, where he led the global company in powering Al training data for global tech brands. His earlier career path included serving as managing partner and president of digital and innovation at KPMG and as senior vice-president at Dell EMC where he led Dell’s global data center, cloud and high-performance computing division. He has previously held senior executive roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and 3Com. Mr. Ahmad is deeply committed to advocating for the development of AI skills training, health tech innovation and for promoting diversity and inclusion. He serves on the board of Trillium Health Partners, and on the Board of Advisors at the Smith School of Business for AI at Queen’s University and the Dean’s Advisory Council at the University of Waterloo. As co-founder and board director of the Coalition of Innovation Leaders Advancing Respect (CILAR), Mr. Ahmad works through large corporate, research and academic organizations to advance skills development and inclusive growth opportunities for underrepresented communities across Canada. He is also an active advocate for girls in STEAM education, mental health awareness and immigrant resettlement programs. At McMaster, Mr. Ahmad has been involved as a guest speaker in the Executive MBA program and, while he was with KPMG, played an instrumental role in establishing the KPMG Ignition Lab, an innovation and technology space in DeGroote’s new McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery. |
