President’s Award in Student Leadership: Madison Brennan
Madison Brennan has been fortunate to be surrounded by leaders whose grace and intentionality have shaped her growth. When she first arrived at McMaster, this inspired her to explore, engage, and connect with the community. She joined Jack.org, MSU SWHAT, Welcome Week, and became a tour guide. Her experience as a Tour Guide Leader and Acting Tour Coordinator in the Recruitment Office helped build her confidence as a student leader and allowed her to support an incredible team while contributing to McMaster’s welcoming environment for incoming students. These roles led to positions such as Vice Planner Internal for Social Sciences Welcome Week and undergraduate representative on the Anthropology Social Committee, both focused on fostering connection and student support. Through these experiences, Madison developed a leadership style rooted in empathy and inclusivity, helping others find their place at McMaster. Her goal as a leader is to ensure McMaster is a place where everyone feels they belong, knows they have something valuable to offer, and is given opportunities to lead – just as McMaster has done for her. |
