Enrolment verification

Enrolment verification letters are available to all students and alumni. These are official documents that can verify your status as a student or alumni at McMaster. They only reflect information that is active in your student record, including: study period dates, full time or part time status, degree, program, level of study and program duration.

Before submitting a request:

You may need an enrolment verification letter for a variety of reasons, including: studying abroad, renewing your study permit, or applying for employment. It’s important to confirm which type of letter you need and any specific requirements set by the organization requesting the document.

These letters are not accepted for Study Permit Extension or Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) applications

Mosaic self-service

  • Log into Mosaic > Student Centre.
  • Click on ‘other academics’.
  • Click on ‘Enrollment/Financial letters’.
  • Select from the available letters.
  • Select your preferred delivery option: download, email, or print.
Study permit extension letter, Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) letter, letters issued to a third party, cGPA (Cumulative GPA) letter, Final term grad letter, MELD repeat letter, other custom academic or financial letters Parchment ordering services

Parchment credentials are securely delivered with  blue ribbon verification and are considered authenticated by the university. 

If you would like your letter mailed to a third party via Canada Post, please add the mailing address to the special instructions text box or explain your request in a document and upload it to your order in Parchment.

    • Current students are to order through the “Undergraduate Verification” credential. The cost of this service is $3.00 USD.
    • Alumni are to order through “Undergraduate Alumni Verifications” credential. The cost of this service is $30.00 USD.

What should I do if I can’t access the letter I need through Mosaic Self‑Service?

If you’re an undergraduate student and the required letter is not available through Mosaic’s self‑serve options, you can submit a request for a custom Enrolment Verification letter through Parchment ordering services.

What is Parchment?

Parchment is McMaster’s secure document delivery service and offers delivery of the same letters available through Mosaic Self Service as well as custom requests.  All credentials issued through Parchment include blue ribbon verification, meaning they are authenticated by the university.

How much does it cost to request an enrolment verification through Parchment?

The cost depends on your student status:

  • Current undergraduate students pay $3.00 USD when ordering through the Undergraduate Verification credential.
  • Undergraduate alumni pay $30.00 USD when ordering through the Undergraduate Alumni Verifications credential.

How long does it take to process a custom verification letter?

Please allow 10-15 business days  for processing of any custom verification letters.
