International students can request the following letters through Parchment ordering services:
Study Permit Extension letters: Used for international students to extend their study permit as well as students who require enrolment confirmation for their entire academic enrolment. These letters are not available for Level 1 students and students in an undeclared program. Includes student name, student ID, all enrolment terms and dates, status, degree, level, program duration, pending course work/co-op work terms and expected graduation term.
Post Graduate Work Permit letters : Available as early as your status in Mosaic is set to ‘Approved’ or after your degree is conferred. Includes student name, student ID, confirmation of approval to graduate status, degree, program, expected conferral date and all enrolment terms, dates and status. Students who complete all degree requirements in the fall term can request a PGWP or Approved to Graduate letter through Parchment as early as the following January ahead of Academic reviewing.
Parchment credentials are securely delivered with blue ribbon verification and are considered authenticated by the university.
- Current students are to order through the “Undergraduate Verification” credential. The cost of this service is $3.00 USD.

Students can submit a request for a custom Enrolment Verification letter through Parchment ordering services. Some common custom letter requests include the following:
- cGPA (Cumulative GPA) letters : cGPA letters for current students are only generated by special request and will reflect the most recent calculated CGPA. Please select ‘confirmation of enrolment’ from the drop-down menu and add the request through special instructions.
- Final Term Grad letters: Available for students enrolled in their final term. Includes student name, student ID, level, degree and plan name, current term enrolment status and expected conferral month.
- MELD Repeat Letter: Available for students that have been approved to retake the MELD program.
- Confirmation of fees and payments: Includes a summary and detailed breakdown of all charges and payments for the current academic year. Special requests can be considered and are to be made in the special instructions.
- Uploaded form to be completed: Forms will be reviewed upon upload for completion.

The Office of the Registrar protects the personal information of our students and alumni. For that reason, degree and educational verifications are not provided by email to third party organizations and institutions. Below you will find options for verifying student data and more information about our best practices.
McMaster University has partnered with AuraData, Canada’s online education verification system for the purposes of verifying undergraduate and graduate degree completion status of McMaster University graduates for employers, academic institutions and other external parties. For degree verification please visit the AuraData website. Please note: AuraData verifies Doctor of Medicine degrees but does not verify Internships, Residency, or Post Doctoral Fellowships in the field of Medicine. These must be verified through the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. AuraData verification is not available for postgraduate and undergraduate certificates.

The degree awarded letter is available the day following the convocation ceremony.
If you require a letter to be issued directly to a third party, you can submit your request through Parchment ordering services. Parchment credentials are securely delivered with blue ribbon verification and are considered authenticated by the university.
If you would like your letter mailed to a third party via Canada Post, please add the mailing address to the special instructions text box or explain your request in a document and upload it to your order in Parchment.

What should I do if I can’t access the letter I need through Mosaic Self‑Service?
If you’re an undergraduate student and the required letter is not available through Mosaic’s self‑serve options, you can submit a request for a custom Enrolment Verification letter through Parchment ordering services.
What is Parchment?
Parchment is McMaster’s secure document delivery service and offers delivery of the same letters available through Mosaic Self Service as well as custom requests. All credentials issued through Parchment include blue ribbon verification, meaning they are authenticated by the university.
