Applying from Quebec’s CEGEP system
Students applying from Level I CEGEP to any Level I program are required to offer satisfactory standing in 12 Level I academic courses. McMaster University does not consider courses coded 109 for admission purposes.
Those students who have successfully completed a two or three year CEGEP program (who have achieved the DEC) are eligible for advanced credit. The amount of advanced credit granted will be determined at the time of admission.
R score is used for admission consideration.

Applying from a home-schooled program
Home schooled applicants who, in addition to their home schooling experience, have completed six Grade 12 U/M courses at approved Ministry Inspected Schools or equivalent courses from another recognized academic jurisdiction may be considered for their program of choice providing they present the appropriate prerequisite courses on official transcripts from accredited schools and meet the required admission average.
All other home-schooled applicants may apply for admission to Humanities I or Social Sciences I only and must present the following for consideration:
- List of home school credentials including but not limited to structured curriculum completed through ACE (Accelerated Christian Education Programme) or other such programs
- Portfolio of written work in which we will expect to see evidence of appropriate intellectual maturity
- Results of standardized tests. Applicants are required to submit an SAT result of at least 1200 as a combined score (with a minimum of 600 in each section) OR an ACT composite score of at least 27
- The SAT institution code is 0936 and the ACT institution code is 5326

Applying from a University Program Consortium Agreement with SNP
SNP-University Consortium Year 1 Program (UP) delivered at Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP)
McMaster University is a member of the University Program Consortium Agreement with Six Nations Polytechnic. This allows you to complete your first year of study at SNP, and upon successful completion of the UP with a minimum average of 60%, you can apply to transfer into a program of study at McMaster University.
- Apply from the UP to McMaster through the OUAC website.
- If you have attended another post-secondary institution, a $90 supplementary application evaluation fee will be applied.
- If you are applying to McMaster from the UP, you will need to send final official transcripts from:
- High school
- Six Nations Polytechnic
- Any additional university or college work
Ogweho:weh Language Diploma Program (OLD) delivered at Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP)
If you have successfully completed the Ogweho:weh Language Diploma and want to pursue degree studies at McMaster University, you may be eligible to receive up to 24 units of undergraduate academic credit, as determined by the Faculty you are applying to. You will need to be accepted into the Faculty before this advanced standing is granted.
- Apply from the OLD Program to McMaster through the OUAC website.
- If you have attended another post-secondary institution, a $90 supplementary application evaluation fee will be applied.
- Students applying to McMaster from the UP will need to send final official transcripts from:
- High school
- Six Nations Polytechnic
- Any additional university or college work
