International Student Certification Letter Request

If you are a domestic student and require a certification letter, please use the following link to be directed to the Certification Letter Request Form.

Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing. Please be aware that if your request requires information from your Faculty (e.g., your expected graduation date) processing times will be longer. Incomplete requests will result in delays and/or will not be processed.  Canada Post delivery times vary and are beyond the control of the University. We will make every effort to process your request according to your deadline indicated below but service is limited, and we appreciate your patience at this time. 

We are not sending certification letters through email. Letters will only be issued via mail.  Some certification letters are downloadable on Mosaic for faster service. Please refer first to “Enrolment/financial letters: Letters available” on our enrolment verification page for signed letters available on Mosaic. If you aren’t able to download a letter on Mosaic, please reach out to the Student Services live chat.

Notes:

  • This service is only available for undergraduate students. If you are a graduate student, please contact Grad Studies at sgsrec@mcmaster.ca.
  • Transcript requests are completed through Mosaic (physical copies) or our PDF transcript form (electronic transcripts). 
  • Students who have recently completed the MELD program do not need to complete this form to receive a letter.  You will receive further instructions via email.
