The RO Ambassador Program

Our new ambassador program is designed to help guide you as prospective and incoming students at McMaster.

Over the year, our student ambassadors will be sharing stories and advice, answer your questions and show you more about life at Mac… all based on their personal university experiences at McMaster!


Meet our ambassadors!

Julia Cuthbertson (She/Her)

Julia is a 4th year Humanities student, in the JPPL specialization, minoring in Mental Health. She currently works for the student recruitment office as a Tour Guide Leader, while also working for MSU campus events as a marketing coordinator.

Fun fact: Julia’s 1st grade French poem was published in a book so she’s technically a published author!

Madeline Ray (She/Her)

Madeline is a 2nd year Humanities student, in the JPPL specialization. She is the VP of operations for the Humanities Society as well as a Peer educator with the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office.

Fun fact: Even though Madeline is average height, she feels super short compared to her 6’3 (and still growing) brother

Savannah Inacio (She/Her)

Julia is a 4th year Humanities student, in the JPPL specialization, minoring in Mental Health. She currently works for the student recruitment office as a Tour Guide Leader, while also working for MSU campus events as a marketing coordinator.

Fun fact: Savannah is currently learning ASL!

Shayna Sujanani (She/Her)

Shayna is in her 4th year of Communications Studies in the Humanities department. She is the social media coordinator for the MSU and is also involved with the McMaster EcoCar Challenge. Alongside that, Shayna is also on the executive team for Her Campus McMaster!

Fun fact: Shayna lived in Singapore for a year and Hong Kong for 7 years!

Karina Larionova (She/Her)

Karina is a 2nd year Commerce student at the Degroote School of Business and pursuing a minor in French. She is an international student!

Fun fact: Karina learned Spanish to watch her favourite series on Disney.

Hishmat Salehi (He/Him)

Hishmat is a 4th year Computer Science student. Hishmat currently works as a Web and Desktop applications assistant in the Systems & Records department of the Registrar’s Office. He will also be a TA for 2 Computer Science courses this year and is pursuing a minor in Math!

Fun fact: Hishmat has been practising Brazilian jiu-jitsu for 2 years!

Olena Urbanowicz (She/Her)

Olena is in her 3rd year of the Social Work program! She is about to start my placement and am excited but nervous for the journey.

Fun Fact: Olena’s favourite chocolate ever is Bueno and she could eat it all day, every day!

Suruthi Nithiyanandan (She/Her)

Suruthi is a 2nd year Commerce student. She is a welcome week rep for Greensuits, second year rep at the DCS, as well as an exec team member at HerCampus McMaster!

Fun fact: Some of Suruthi’s hobbies include karaoke, camping, and playing the tuba!

Madison Mueller (She/Her)

Madison is in her 2nd year in the Social Work program with a minor in Mental Health and Addiction. She is a work-study student in the Registrar’s Office as a Student Service Representative in Aid & Awards!

Fun fact: Madison is obsessed with iced coffee and drinks it year-round!

Jack McDonough (He/Him)

Jack is a 3rd year Commerce student and currently works for Student Services in the Registrar’s Office as a student services rep! He is also the team treasurer for the rugby team at Mac.

Fun fact: Jack recently started taking music courses at Mac and is considering a minor in music!

Erica Lim (She/Her)

Erica is an international student in her 2nd year of the Commerce program. She is currently part of the work-study program working as the Communications Assistant for the Registrar’s Office.

Fun fact: Erica coached elementary school kids cheerleading before coming to Canada!

Sami Puri (She/Her)

Sami is in her 4th and final year in the Integrated Business and Humanities program and pursuing a minor in Sustainability! She recently completed her co-op placement at a marketing intelligence firm in Toronto as well as worked as a Communications Assistant for the Registrar’s Office. In the past, she has been involved with the DeGroote Commerce Society executive team.

Fun fact: Sami knows how to read Korean (even though she doesn’t know what anything means)

Ebunoluwa (EB) Soneye

EB is in her 2nd year of the Social Work program. She is the community and events planning co-coordinator for MSU Diversity.

Fun fact: EB has a YouTube channel and is an aspiring YouTuber!
