How to connect with us online

September, 01, 2020

During these unprecedented times, we have had to make some adjustments to the ways you can get in contact with us. We are happy to help you navigate your administrative needs while we are all working remotely. Our team of Student Services Professionals (SSPs) is available via online chat for assistance.

How to connect with us

Our online chat is found on two of our websites, the Future website for prospective students and the Registrar’s Office website for current students.

Chat availability:

Registrar’s Office:

Monday: 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 12 – 6:30 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Future: visit the Future site for availability.

The live help button is located at the bottom right corner of both sites. If you’re a current student, access the chat using If you are a prospective student, access the chat through

If you have any issues accessing the chat, please try using a different browser (ex: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) and device. Make sure your browser allows pop-ups and turn off ad blockers to prevent interference with the chat.

Service expectations

Your questions are important to us, and if we are not able to answer them, we may transfer your chat to a colleague with a different set of skills and knowledge. Please be patient, as it may take a couple of moments for the new team member to review the conversation and catch up on the important details.

Your privacy is one of our top priorities. When connecting with us, please do not share any personal information such as your student ID or date of birth. If we require your name or any other information, we will ask for it. It’s important to remember that we can only provide detailed information to you if you are the student, and unfortunately cannot provide information to family members or friends.

If your question requires a more in-depth investigation, we will ask you to connect with us through email and we will do our best to investigate and respond quickly.

Student etiquette

Did you know that our online chat is managed by our Student Service Professional team? There are 6 of us that take turns to answer your questions in the morning and afternoon shifts. As a team, we strive to offer a friendly and positive service experience. We hope that you will engage in a similar approach when connecting with us.

Connecting with us on Teams

If your online chat conversation requires follow up, our SSPs can set up appointments to connect with you over video chat using Microsoft Teams. Please go to and download the free Microsoft 365 suite.

UTS has clear instructions on how to get started, what to do if you need support, accessibility and a general how-to guide. Visit here for a descriptive image of each element on the platform.

Please make sure your Teams account is up and running well before your scheduled video or phone call with a Student Services Professional.
