Cumulative Average (CA) Grade Point Average (GPA) A statistical measure of all academic work for an academic career, often expressed as a numeric value.
Term GPA A statistical measure of academic work for a term, often expressed as a numeric value.
Degree audit Academic Advisement report The report that reflects the progress the student has and is making towards completion of his/her program requirements.
Midnight registration Enrollment appointments (daytime) Date and time when a student or group of students can begin enrolling in classes for a term.

SOLAR Mosaic Student Centre A self-service Component where students manage their university-related activities.
Program Academic plan Academic Plan is a student’s area of study within a particular Academic Program. They are typically majors, minors or certificates. All students must have an Academic Plan, even if undecided. Degrees are attached to plans.

Degree program Academic program Academic Program is typically a broad course of study that represents anything from degree, school, program or a combination thereof.  They are attached to the academic careers and are used to differentiate students within the same career.
Session Term A term is an administrative time period within which sessions are defined, students are billed, and statistics are accumulated for individual students and the entire academic institution.
Term Session A session is a time period attached to a term and may include all or part of the term. The session start and end dates may be “outside” the term start and end dates. A term can have as many sessions as are required to meet business needs.
Interest Late fee The calculation of late fees for all students that are past due on their accounts.
Waivers Permissions Permissions are used to waiving course or enrollment requirement for a student to enroll in a course.
Course calendar Course catalogue A list of all courses that are or have been offered at McMaster, with descriptions and all other course details.
Course Code (e.g. 1A03) Catalogue Number This is the outward-facing identifier of the course.
Subject Code + Course Code Course ID A unique identifier of a course across the entire catalog, regardless of term or session. It refers to the “parent definition” of a course (e.g. the parent course could have several types of components as “children”. Course ID always remain with the course, even if the course is renumbered.
Planner Students can use the planner to identify courses they would like to take in the future.
Requisite Check Post Enrolment Requirement Checking Process A process that checks if the student has completed the prerequisites of the courses.

Career Undergraduate (UGRD), Graduate (GRAD), Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), Divinity (DIV), Medicine (MED)
Class A specific offering of a course in a term. A class may have several components such as Lecture, Lab, or Tutorial.
Personal timetable Class schedule Provides class scheduling information by week or term.
